Meticulous Demands realized for Chanel Fashion Shows
Our journey with Atelier Devineau began with the grand visions of Chanel fashion shows, where
large-format printing met the meticulous demands of Karl Lagerfeld.
This foundation paved the way for our collaboration that later have led to dozens of projects together, among other things to the Carmen opera first shown at the Rouen Normandy Opera.
The Big Image-Devineau partnership is reassuring and certainly gives us a competitive
advantage. We are masters in the field of decors, and Big Image is recognized worldwide for the
quality of its printing. The result is a solid trust from our customers.
For the Carmen opera project, we chose cotton as our canvas, honoring the traditions of
hand-painted theatre backdrops. The fabric's flexibility and tactile quality made it the perfect
medium. The drawings were meticulously scanned by Atelier Devineau, who worked closely with set
designer Antoine Fontaine throughout the project to refine his detailed drawings, ensuring every
nuance was captured. Big Image handled the printing, after which Atelier Devineau's artists,
still in close collaboration with Fontaine, breathed life into the visuals with hand-painted
touches, adding depth and realism that traditional methods alone could not achieve.
