A Swedish Family Business with the World as Its Stage

From its production studio in Stockholm, Sweden, family-owned Big Image brings grand visual worlds to life – sometimes spanning over 600 square meters – reaching audiences beyond national borders. With an additional studio just outside Berlin, the company collaborates with some of the world’s most renowned stages and brands. Big Image is celebrated for its blend of innovation, craftsmanship, and the ability to bring artistic visions to life on a grand scale.

“What makes Big Image unique is the combination of craftsmanship, warmth, and courage. We have a culture where there are no tender toes – only a shared drive to create something truly exceptional,” says Mikaela Sundqvist.

A Leader Who Has Grown with the Company

Mikaela began her journey at Big Image as a project manager, later becoming Head of Production, where she helped shape both internal structures and customer-focused processes. Now, she steps into the role of CEO at a time when the company is expanding in AI-generated image creation, sustainability, and international collaborations.

“I truly look forward to connecting with our clients and talking about the future. Our role is to understand what they need – sometimes even before they do. I’m driven by continuous improvement and forward momentum, and we already have an incredible culture to build upon,” Mikaela says.

Technology-Driven with an Artistic Soul

Innovation has always been at the heart of Big Image. The company developed its own technology to print images on a scale that few others can achieve. AI, advanced printing solutions, sustainable materials, and close collaboration with creative professionals are all part of daily life.

“We’ve always made what didn’t exist. That’s how we developed the technology to print the world’s largest images – and with that same curiosity, we’re now exploring AI and the next generation of image-making,” says Mikaela.

A New Structure, Same Forward Drive

As Mikaela takes on the CEO role, former CEO Rickard Eskilsson will focus on technology and development. At the same time, Ahmed Turki steps in as the new Head of Production.
