This year, Big Image marks 30 years since opening its studio in Germany. Founded in a reunited Berlin, the German studio has grown into a key part of a pioneering family business that continues to shape visual storytelling on some of the world’s most renowned stages. The company’s journey, however, began long before 1995 — and it starts with a bold decision to seek new possibilities across borders.

Big Image Unveils 900 Square Meters of Innovative Stage Flooring at Scandinavia’s Largest Stadium

During three sold-out shows at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Håkan Hellström — one of Sweden’s most iconic and beloved artists — performed on Big Image’s newly developed stage flooring, which covered a total of 900 square meters. Known for creating some of the world’s largest seamless printed images, Big Image has been crafting technical solutions for stages around the globe since 1987. Now, the company introduces the next innovation: a stage floor developed in close collaboration with scenographers, dancers, and technicians.

Big Image Creates the World’s Largest AI-Image

We’re used to AI living inside our screens – but what happens when it steps out into the real world? Big Image has taken that leap. In collaboration with The Beach, an indoor beach volleyball arena just outside Stockholm, they created a 50x10 meter AI-generated image – likely the largest of its kind ever produced in physical form.

Big Image Pushes Creative Boundaries with Fotografiska Stockholm

For the exhibition "ToiletFotoPaperGrafiska" at Fotografiska Stockholm, Big Image printed on a wide range of materials – including foil, lamellas, three-dimensional figures, and their own stage flooring Clear Stage. This was all done to help Fotografiska Stockholm realize their vision of a hyper-visual, surreal experience.
